Although, we have read more than 50 ways to practice formative assessment and an amount of examples about it, one question is still remain: how to access student’s knowledge in a formative way?

Look this link!!!

What's CLIL?
It means Content and Language Integrated Learning.

It is an approach created by the European Commission in 1994 as an “umbrella term” for promoting different forms of using language as a medium for instruction. CLIL main idea is to involve learning subjects such as history, geography or others through an additional language. The students are exposured to the foreign language without requiring extra time in the curriculum. For this, teaching activities are organized through the medium of a foreign language.

What is competence? We need to understand it better. What is our competence in our courses and in our subjects? In the Federal Institute context it is necessary to think about it, carefully. How to put it in our curriculum without causing problem with different thinking as “social” and “neoliberal” feeling. The competence is based on knowing, doing and being. But, we need to understand that to be is the most important thing. The focus must be in BEING.
Competence, must be conceived as the ability to mobilize, to articulate and to put into practice knowledges, skills and attitudes. They are together are necessary for the effective performance of activities required in the work context.

Competence
Ability

Curriculum is the cultural selection of certain knowledge, teaching and learning practices that are produced in historical contexts.

DIANA
Dialogical authentic learning activity (DIANA) is a fantastic method to integrate students as a main actor in the learning process. In this process the students build their own knowledge and the teacher is part of this construction. We will try to explain this process:
1 - DIANA is explained to the student: how this methods works and what the students need to do to achieve the knowledge and results during the subject
2 - The students need to be organized in equality groups. In this process the students and the teacher can choose the members.
3 - The teacher acts as a coach or guide and introduce the competence, ability and goals of the subject to the students in topics
4 - The students, in groups, choose the topics and start to construct the knowledge
5 - The students start discussing about the topics, share their own knowledge and choose some ways to produce the knowledge
6 - In this process the teacher helps and guides the student, but all the contents and researches are built by the students, since the beginning.
7 - The assessment in DIANA model occurs during the teaching and learning process and the outcomes that the student produces can be video, blog, flip, movie, etc.

For while, there are more questions than answers; more reflection than sure...
THEN, let’s construct our own knowledge...
